Hits From the Test Kitchen: The Dishes Our Chefs Can’t Get Enough of

The best part of working at Plated HQ? The food (surprising, we know). We’re all in close proximity to a bustling kitchen where our chefs cook up countless delicious dishes—which means we get to serve as eager taste testers. But there are some dishes so good, they never make it out of the kitchen (or into our bellies for that matter). Lucky for you, they’re coming up on the menu, so you can taste-test them to your heart’s content.

Our Choices

Steak Bulgogi Nachos with Kimchi:

A mashup of a Korean bbq staple and America’s favorite halftime nosh, these nachos are basically the cheesy, juicy dinner of your dreams. Have them as a snack or a meal—just keep your napkins near.

Creamy Baked Orzo with Rainbow Chard:

Love baked ziti? Wait ’til you try this colorful, aromatic baked orzo, made with a garlicky, herb-speckled cream sauce and layered with sliced plum tomato, shredded mozzarella, and melty, crispy panko breadcrumbs. 

Kale and Sweet Potato Salad with Walnuts:

Salad for dinner doesn’t have to be a drag. Case in point: this rich, hearty mix of kale, roasted sweet potato, and crunchy red cabbage. Chickpeas and a velvety tahini dressing add a hint of nuttiness, while brown-sugared walnuts lend a toasty, crunchy touch. Basically, this dish is salad for dinner, done right.

Shrimp and Coconut Soup with Bok Choy:

The only thing better than tender spaghetti squash? Spaghetti squash submerged in a rich coconut curry with golden breaded shrimp. A little spicy, a little sweet, and totally irresistible, this dish might have you forsaking takeout (if only for the night).
