We know, there’s nothing better than a warm cookie straight out of the oven. Until…you start stuffing your cookies with deliciously decadent fillings. You’ll never look at a sugar cookie the same way. Cupcakes meet cookies meet sandwich = see you never because we’re over here drowning in cookie dough. Come join us! Build your base
This is our absolute favorite all-purpose chocolate chip cookie recipe. We love it any time of year (and any time of day, minute, second), and it’s endlessly customizable. Start with this cookie dough, and then get to customizing with stuffings and mix-ins below!
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more, softened, for greasing
1 cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
½ cup packed light brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
½ tablespoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
¾ cup chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a baking sheet with softened butter.
2. Melt the butter in a microwave or small pot. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. In a separate medium bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together melted butter and both sugars. Beat the vanilla and egg into the butter-sugar mixture until light and fluffy. Stir in the flour mixture just to combine, taking care not to over-mix. Stir in the chocolate chips (if you’re making the Nutella version below, pause at this step, and sprinkle over chocolate chips after).
NOTE: Between steps 3 and 4, you’ll be adding extra treats galore.
4. Scoop out balls of cookie dough and place on prepared baking sheet. (See note above!) Transfer to oven and bake until light golden around the edges, 10–12 minutes. Remove from baking sheet and allow to cool completely.
You can’t go wrong with Nutella
Before you assemble your cookies, scoop out tablespoon-sized dollops of Nutella and freeze on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Assemble your cookie dough balls, then place a dollop of Nutella inside, making sure you seal it fully with your dough. Sprinkle over chocolate chips and bake.
Cream cheese is not just for bagels
The only thing we love more than an ice cream cookie sandwich is when we replace ice cream with cream cheese frosting! Whip up a batch of cream cheese frosting and sandwich it between two of your freshly baked cookies. Make sure they’re cool, though, or you run the risk of melting the frosting. It’s like an Oreo, but oh so much more.
Put those store-bought caramels to good use
For a sweet and melty caramel center, simply wrap dough around caramel squares and bake!

Peanut butter cookies, peanut butter in cookies, we love it all. Here, we’re stuffing chocolate chip cookies with a delicious peanut butter filling.
For every 1 cup of peanut butter, whip with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, then create dollops on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze while you prepare your cookie dough. Scoop a heaping mound of cookie dough, flatten it, then place the peanut butter inside, and bring the edges together around the peanut butter. Bake and enjoy your gooey peanut butter goodness.
S’mores ’em up
Crush up some graham crackers and fold them into the cookie batter along with some chocolate chips. Then, when scooping your dough, stuff in a few mini marshmallows. Chill the cookies for a few hours (overnight, if possible) before baking.
