Spiked Berry Half-and-Half

 

 

Iced tea is a staple of summer that offers countless flavor options. Whether you like to mix it with fruit, lemonade or alcohol, this refresher is good for any time of day. We like this recipe from Martha Stewart because it takes advantage of fresh summer strawberries and allows you the option of substituting your favorite teabag.

 

Spiked Berry Half-and-Half

–       1 Lady Grey tea bag

–       1 cup sliced strawberries

–       1 cup vodka

–       ½ cup superfine sugar

–       1 cup fresh lemon juice

–       Ice

–       Seltzer

 

Combine the tea bag, sliced strawberries and vodka in a small container and allow it to steep for 1 hour. Meanwhile, in a small pitcher, stir together the sugar and lemon juice until sugar dissolves. Discard the tea bag and then add the vodka mixture to the pitcher and stir. Serve the cocktail over ice and top with a splash of seltzer.
