The Best Way to Celebrate National Tequila Day
Sunday is National Tequila Day. To help you celebrate, we’re sharing one of our favorite ways to enjoy the spirit. No, it isn’t a margarita (though we love those too) or tequila shots (cause we’d rather skip the hangover). We’re doing one better—we’re giving you a peek into the Plated Cookbook with our Tequila Negroni Margarita recipe. It’s a play off two drinks that are perfectly refreshing and delicious on their own, but even better together.
½ cup kosher salt
1 tablespoon Rose’s lime juice
6 ounces Campari
2 ¼ cups blanco tequila
1 cup seltzer
Ice cubes for serving
1. Place 6 lowball glasses in the freezer to chill.
2. Zest and half the oranges. On a small plate, combine the salt and orange zest.
3. Halve the limes. Squeeze the oranges and limes (reserve 2 of the juiced limes) into a large pitcher. Add the rose’s, campari, tequila, and seltzer. Stir to combine.
4. Rub the rims of the glasses with the reserved limes. Turn upside-down and dip into the orange salt. Add ice cubes to the glasses and pour the margaritas over.
