We love traditional chocolate chip cookies, but there's something about the combination of buttery cookie dough and white chocolate that we just can't get enough of. Here, we add pecans for crunch and dried cherries for tart balance, then bake until soft and chewy. Best enjoyed warm, with a glass of milk or mug of tea.

    Cooking Steps

    1. Combine dry ingredients

      Combine dry ingredients

      Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment papers. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, pecans, dried cherries, white chocolate chips, and ¼ teaspoon salt to combine.

    2. Cream butter and sugar

      Cream butter and sugar

      Place butter in a large heatproof bowl and microwave in 10-second intervals until softened, but not melted. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar and whisk vigorously until mixture is pale and fluffy.

    3. Finish dough

      Finish dough

      To bowl with butter-sugar mixture, add vanilla and 1 egg; whisk vigorously until combined. Add flour mixture and stir to combine.

    4. Form and bake cookies

      Working 1 at a time, scoop heaping tablespoons of cookie dough onto prepared sheets, spacing apart, to yield 15 cookies. Bake, rotating sheets halfway through, until light golden and very soft to the touch, 15-17 minutes total.

      Let white chocolate chip cookies cool on baking sheets for 5-10 minutes, then enjoy! If there are any unclaimed cookies, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
