Simple and delightfully decadent, this Nutella-laced bread pudding embraces exactly what dessert should be. The hazelnut-chocolate spread is layered onto fluffy brioche, then chopped up and soaked in creamy custard before baking. The result? Perfectly caramelized chocolatey bread pudding that pairs particularly well with a movie, a comfy couch, and a very big spoon.

    1. Prepare Ingredients

      Prepare Ingredients

Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut brioche in half, and evenly spread Nutella on one side. Cover with other half of brioche and press together, creating a sandwich. Cut Nutella sandwich into ½-inch cubes. In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 egg and vanilla extract.
    2. Make Custard

      Make Custard

In a small pot over medium-high heat, combine half of milk, heavy cream, sugar, and a pinch salt and cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved and milk is hot but not boiling, about 1 minute. Add milk mixture to bowl with egg, whisking continuously, until combined. Use remaining milk for morning coffee.
    3. Soak Bread

      Soak Bread

Add brioche cubes to bowl with custard and stir gently to coat. Set aside and allow to soak for 5-10 minutes.
    4. Bake Bread Pudding

      Bake Bread Pudding

Divide bread and custard evenly between aluminum tins, place on a baking sheet, and transfer to oven. Bake until brioche is slightly crisp and custard is firm, 20-25 minutes.
    5. Plate Bread Pudding

      Plate Bread Pudding

Remove bread puddings from oven and allow to cool for 2-3 minutes. Serve warm and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Enjoy bread pudding bliss.
