Slightly caramelized, not too saucy, and fall-off-the-bone-tender, these ribs are the perfect addition to your next college game day viewing party. You won’t miss any touchdowns because you were stuck in the kitchen since you can pre-bake these ribs the night before and simply finish them in the broiler before serving. Perfect crowd-pleasers don’t get much easier than this, folks!
BBQ Baby Back Ribs Recipe
- 3-4 lbs baby back ribs
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- Salt and pepper
1. Heat the oven to 275°F. Rub the ribs all over with the brown sugar, salt and pepper. Put on a rimmed baking sheet and bake, turning once in a while, until the meat is tender, 2 to 3 hours.
2. Raise oven temperature to 450°F. Brush the ribs with barbecue sauce and return them to the oven. Cook until the ribs crisp around the edges, and the sauce begins to caramelize, about 15 minutes. Serve hot or warm, with an extra brush of sauce at the end if you like. For an extra-crisp exterior, run the ribs under the broiler for a few minutes at the end instead of roasting them at 450°F.
Pro tip: Do step 1 ahead of time, then crisp the ribs at 450°F before serving.
