Invented at Singapore’s iconic Raffles Hotel, the Singapore Sling is a classic gin drink with an eye-catching, deep-pink hue from cherry brandy. Pineapple juice, grenadine, Cointreau, or a combination of the three gives the cocktail its sweetness—we opt for just the pineapple for balance and a more tropical vibe. Herbal liqueur adds complex flavors—you’ll often see this drink garnished with a wedge of pineapple and a maraschino cherry, but we love the way a sprig of mint highlights those herbal notes.
1 ounce gin
½ ounce herbal liqueur
½ ounce cherry brandy
1½ ounces pineapple juice
½ ounce fresh lime juice
crushed ice for serving
mint sprig, for garnish
1. Fill a highball glass with crushed ice.
2. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes, combine gin, herbal liqueur, cherry brandy, pineapple juice, lime juice, and bitters; shake vigorously until chilled.
3. Strain over prepared glass. Top with as much club soda as desired, then garnish with mint sprig. Cheers!
