Meet the Plated Culinary Team: Tim Reardon

Our Culinary Team is responsible for every recipe Plated customers cook, love, and remember. Every day, the chefs in our Test Kitchen dream up dinner ideas and make them a reality for home cooks all over the country. And their mission is simple: to make delicious dinners accessible for culinary novices and experts alike. Because everyone deserves to experience the joy that comes from making a delicious meal from scratch.

AndreaElana, Michelle, and Tim are, of course, pros in the kitchen, but we thought people should see what else they’ve got going on (because they’re pretty great). Here’s your chance to get to know the fun, entertaining, food-centric folks who make the magic happen—in our kitchen and yours.

Meet Tim, Our Director of Culinary Product Development

After studying at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, Tim cut his teeth at Daniel Boulud’s 3-Michelin-star restaurant Daniel, then went to work with world-renowned Joel Robuchon at L’Atelier Joel Robuchon. Apart from cooking, Tim has crafted the culinary brand presence for major events like The Sundance Film Festival and The Aspen Food & Wine Classic. Fun fact: He was a presenting chef at the Culinary Institute of America’s Worlds of Flavor Conference!

What’s your favorite part of cooking for Plated?
Finding new ways to surprise and delight!

What’s one of your fondest food memories?
Making homemade sauerkraut with my German grandmother—I will never forget that amazing smell.

What’s your favorite cooking TV show?
Top Chef Jr. I watch it together with my 3 year old daughter. She loves it, too.

What’s your most-loved Plated recipe?
Moussaka-Stuffed Delicata Squash with Greek Yogurt Béchamel. So good.

What’s your favorite trick or lesson from culinary school?
ABC, aka “Always Be Cleaning!” It’s easier to clean as you go than to let the dishes pile up until the very end. It’s a simple tip, but it makes cooking way easier…and a lot more fun.

Living or dead, who would you most want to have as a dinner guest?
James Beard, hands down.
