The Ultimate Mother’s Day Celebration Guide

This Mother’s Day, we wanted to pull out all the stops to celebrate Mom. From brunch to cooking tips to cocktails, we wanted to offer ways to ensure this Mother’s Day is extra-special. We even dreamt up a unique menu—each recipe is inspired by one of our chefs’ moms. But that’s not all…

To kick off a memorable Mother’s Day, you’ll need to prepare an excellent brunch while Mom kicks back and sips her coffee (that you also brewed, of course). These muffins are incredibly easy to make, so let the littlest ones in the family try their hand at baking—with supervision of course. For the more advanced chefs in the family, we’ve got a light yet cheesy frittata which pairs perfectly with homemade biscuits and butter.

And what’s brunch without beverages? And no, we don’t mean coffee and juice. An integral part of any good brunch is a solid cocktail, and we’ve got more than a few options. We’ve created recipes for classic cocktails that have simple mocktail versions, so everyone at the table can have a sip.

Later on—since we’re always thinking ahead to the next meal—make use of these six wine pairings that beautifully elevate each dish on our Mother’s Day menu. Also, be sure to check out our special behind the scenes deep dive into how our Braised Chicken with Currants and Apricots came together—a dish near and dear to Head Chef Elana’s heart.

Needless to say, our Culinary Team got a lot of their talent from their moms, so we asked our chefs to tell us about the best cooking tips they learned growing up. They did not disappoint.

Now it’s your turn to share. Be on the lookout for posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram prompting you to submit your favorite kitchen tip you learned from Mom. Comment on those posts on Instagram and Facebook with your tip, or on Twitter, use the hashtag #PlatedContest and you’ll be entered for a chance to win! One lucky person (selected by our Culinary Team) will take home a Plated swag bag and an $100 BaubleBar gift card.

Cheers to Mom!
