Chocolate Custard Tarts



2½ tablespoons heavy cream
1½ tablespoons whole milk
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1½ tablespoons semisweet chocolate
2 small tart shells
1 egg

1. Prepare Ingredients
Preheat oven to 325F. In a large bowl, beat 1 egg. In a small pot over medium-low heat, combine cream, milk, and sugar. Bring to a simmer. When milk mixture is simmering, remove pot from heat. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted and smooth, about 30 seconds.

2. Stir Custard
Slowly add milk mixture to bowl with egg, stirring continuously until blended. Remove foil cover from insides of tart shells, leaving bottom foil in place. Pour custard evenly into shells.

3. Bake Tarts
Place tarts on a baking sheet and bake until custard is set and crusts are golden, 20-25 minutes. Remove tarts from tins and serve warm.
