Chile Seared Salmon

Salmon has a good amount heart-healthy fats and is a great source of protein! Try this quick recipe for seared salmon along with a side of roasted vegetables for a light and healthy meal.

Chile Seared Salmon Recipe

  • 2 6-ounce salmon fillets
  • ½ tablespoon ground red chile
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

In a small bowl combine the chile, sugar, and salt. Pat the salmon dry with paper towel and rub the chile mixture all over the salmon. Meanwhile, heat vegetable oil in a medium pan over medium-high heat.

Carefully place the salmon in the pan and cook until crisp and brown, about 3-5 minutes per side. The USDA recommends cooking salmon to 145° F.
