Bacon makes everything better – except when it’s soggy, greasy or burnt. Whether you’re whipping up a BLT or weaving strips into a bowl for your salad, here’s how to make the best bacon.
What you need:
- aluminum foil
- a sheet tray with a lip to catch the grease
- a cooking rack that fits into your sheet tray
- all the bacon you can eat
First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Let the oven get to the right temp. Next, line a sheet tray with aluminum foil – this makes clean-up a snap! Place the cooling rack ON TOP OF the sheet tray you’ve just lined with foil. Lay the bacon on top of the rack, and leave a little space in between each strip. Bake for 15 minutes on the middle rack of your oven. The bacon should be golden and crisp when it’s done. Finally, carefully pull out the tray, rack and bacon and serve!
Pro tip: Want an extra-sweet treat? Brush the bacon with maple syrup halfway through cooking!
