5 Ways to Brighten
up your Winter Diet

If your winter meals are feeling a little dreary and dull, try one of these ideas to bring some color to your plate!

Cook purple potatoes. These colorful winter tubers add a fun hue to the dinner table and are fantastic when tossed with a zesty vinaigrette. We love this recipe from Donal Skehan.

Make a colorful and fresh salad dressing. Use that almost-too-ripe avocado to make a delicious and creamy Green Goddess Dressing.

Add citrus to your dinner. Clementines paired with maple syrup make a zesty and sweet glaze in this recipe for roasted pork tenderloin.

Make a bright salad. Kumquat and starfruit compliment this Lemongrass Grilled Beef Salad recipe beautifully.

Try a new and unique ingredient. For extra depth of flavor, try adding preserved lemon to your next recipe. It pairs well with chicken, fish and pasta dishes! Learn how to make it here.

Don’t cook – Eat something raw. This light and crunchy Radicchio, Apple and Pear Salad from Smitten Kitchen is the perfect side salad or lunch to brighten up a dreary winter day.

Add a colorful side. We can’t resist the pun: “beet” out the winter blues with this recipe for Pickled Beets!
